The MOVEability Way

As a social enterprise, we are committed to breaking down barriers to ensure those who could benefit from our seated chair exercise classes can.

Common barriers to exercise

  • Fear of the unknown
  • Fear of rejection
  • Cost
  • Need to commit to a weekly class
  • Need to book and pay for classes in advance
  • Fear class will be too difficult

How we overcome these barriers

Simple. We remove them.

No uncertainty:  You’ll always know what you’ll get with a MOVEability class – our classes follow the same structure. To learn more, look at The MOVEability Way blog series.

No upfront payments: All classes are pay-as-you-go

No pressure to attend: Can’t attend? No need to pay. Even if you’ve registered

No need to book in advance: Show up on the day

No pressure to get it right: Do whatever you can manage

No need for technology to get the better of you: one-to-one support accessing our online classes

Emphasis on fun and friendship: So much more than exercise!

Why we do this

It’s our social purpose to make exercise accessible to all ages and abilities. We believe the world will be a better place if all people, regardless of age or status, have an equal opportunity to enhance their physical and mental well-being.

Our Vision

We know our model works. We want it to become the default model for classes like ours up and down the country, with social enterprises and charitable organisations able to access funding from a central pot. Considering the social impact our classes make, it’s a no-brainer!

Grants and donations

Right now, we make The MOVEability Way possible through grant funding from a variety of funders. We have received grants from organisations including:

UNLtd

Connecting Communities in Berkshire

Parkinson’s UK

Sovereign Network Group

Berkshire Community Foundation

Everyone Active

We also accept donations through our Crowdfunding page, which was inspired by the generosity of strangers in a Waitrose cafe.
