We were radio stars for the day! Listen to us chat about our Get Berkshire Active award on BBC Radio Berkshire. We talk about what the award means to us and why we believe our clients nominated us. Hear us share some wonderful feedback from a mother whose daughter’s mobility has improved beyond measure, as a result of our classes.
With clients ranging from ages 11 to 94, we are helping many people in Berkshire and beyond. We work with people who suffer from a range of conditions, including fibromyalgia ME and Long Covid that limit mobility and cause chronic pain, as well as those who are housebound due to old age.
There has been an explosion of online exercise classes as a result of the pandemic, but what makes ours so deserving of recognition?
Our supporters and clients believe we deserve this award because we provide more than online exercise classes. We are building a community. We get to know each of our clients by name, even when our classes have 50 plus people. We also keep classes open at the end so people can chat.
Community runs to the heart of everything we do, which is why we keep our prices accessible by partnering with charities such as Get Berkshire Active.
We firmly believe the world would be a better place if those with disabilities, limited mobility and chronic conditions had the same opportunities as able-bodied people to improve their physical and mental health.
Receiving this award and taking part in interviews such as the one with BBC Radio Berkshire has given us greater visibility so we can reach more people who need the opportunities to improve their physical and mental health.
We want to continue to build our reach. We would be happy to talk to other radio stations and podcasters about how Moveability is enhancing the lives of people with disabilities, limited mobility and chronic conditions.
