We are growing! We are thrilled to announce that MOVEability are launching a new class in Chieveley. Thanks to increasing demand and additional support from Connecting Communities in Berkshire and Get Berkshire Active.
The class will take place at Chieveley Village Hall every Thursday morning at 11, commencing on 6th July and has evolved from the success of our Hermitage Village Hall Class, also in collaboration with Connecting Communities in Berkshire. Read more about our Hermitage Village Hall class here, which now attracts around 18-20 people a week.
Like our Hermitage Village Hall class, this new class in Chieveley will run for approximately 45 minutes and will feature a warm-up followed by mobilising exercises, aerobic exercises, strengthening exercises, cool down, stretch, tension releasing body scan and an invigorating ‘wake up/shake up’ revitaliser.
As with all our on-site classes, we will finish up with a cuppa and a chat!
You can turn up on the day. No need to book in advance. Come along and try your first class for FREE*.
Much more than exercise
By setting up and running classes like the ones in Hermitage and Chieveley, we are helping Connecting Communities in Berkshire in their efforts to future-proof village halls, which are so vital for rural communities. By funding our classes, Connecting Communities in Berkshire are helping us to provide a much-valued service and resource for people in these communities. Our classes mean so much more than exercise to our regulars. They are a place to meet new people, have a friendly chat, and, more importantly, have a laugh and have fun, whilst for some, building their confidence and self-esteem as they master new exercise moves or make new friends.
Can’t make this class?
We run other seated chair exercise classes, including the class at Hermitage Village Hall on Monday afternoons, at Alice Bye Court in Thatcham on Thursday afternoons, and at Eight Bells for Mental Health on Monday mornings. We also run a class for people with Parkinson’s every other Friday in Wash Common near Newbury.
In addition, we run a live online seated chair exercise class in collaboration with Get Berkshire Active. Note you do not need to live in Berkshire to join this class.
New timetable
Accommodating the new class means changes to our existing timetable. The Eight Bells Class (with an online option) will now run on Monday mornings.
We have also decided to merge our Thursday and Monday online classes, which will now take place on Monday mornings and will feature all the aspects of the upper body strengthening class whilst incorporating some lower body options. The popular Get Berkshire Active seated chair exercise class will remain unchanged and will take place each Wednesday morning. Look out for social media posts and emails with details of the new timetable.
In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you to our new Chieveley class. Have any questions? Contact Debbie at info@moveability.org.uk or on 0330 133 1488.
*with a small discretionary contribution towards running costs at future classes
