A look inside our Parkinson’s UK class

MOVEability Parkinson's UK exercise class in Berkshire

Our Parkinson’s UK class continues to go from strength to strength. At every session we are joined by people with Parkinson’s of a range of ages, both men and women, and their carers. It creates a fantastic dynamic.

We have between 10 and 15 people per class. These are some of the lovely people who joined us at our class on 2nd December.

We run a specially designed programme to a selection of upbeat tracks and an emphasis on inclusion, with all the music and fun you are exercising without even realising it! The music is proving a great hit, with reports of extracurricular dancing round the kitchen by one of our regular participants.

As always we have two instructors with options to sit and stand.

The programme includes a range of exercises designed with Parkinson’s in mind. Our goal is to help those joining our class manage the condition more effectively through exercise – whilst having fun and meeting new people along the way.

Introducing some of the exercises

Here we are tapping out our feet whilst swinging arms, using dance to improve balance.

Time to talk

Dance also has a distinct social element and we always round it off with a chat over a cuppa and a biscuit. We place as much value on the social aspect of our classes as the exercise, because that’s what our clients value.
