Dancing King – Seated Chair Exercise Live on Air

Early one Wednesday morning last month, I was live on the GnT breakfast show on Kennet Radio. After giving a brief history of MOVEability, I chatted about the benefits of our seated chair exercise classes, namely:

  • Accessibility and inclusivity – we take away all the barriers and are open to all ages and abilities – we currently have people ranging from age 40 up to 97 in one class.
  • Group format – great if you’re not interested in exercising on your own at the gym and you’re drawn to the idea of getting fit in a way that’s a little different.
  • The classes have a purposefully designed structure – each class, we go on a journey up and over a metaphorical hill, with each stage, from warm up to cool down and stretching, serving a purpose. The exercises are fun but functional.
  • There’s no pressure. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace.
  • A chance to socialise after each class.

I then put host Graham (one half of the GnT duo) through his paces with some wrist mobilising and seated marching.

You can also see me putting Tony (the other half of GnT) through his paces in this video later in the show with some toe taps, heel lifts, marching, hand claps and more. Our very own dancing king!

Keep watching and you’ll even get treated to a duet from me and Tony.

Both hosts thoroughly enjoyed it. To quote them, they were “waving their hands, marching up a hill, marching down a hill without moving from their chair!” They rightly observed that this is a great form of exercise for those who don’t currently do any kind of exercise. If that’s you, why not give our online or in-person classes a try!

I evidently made such an impression that I was asked by Graham and Tony, as you will hear at the end of the clip above, if I would come back and run a seated chair exercise class live on air!

They then asked the listeners to get in touch and say if they would like me to come back and do it.

The team would love me to go back on.

Want me back on, too? As soon as Graham, Tony and I can find space in our schedules, I’ll be there!
