Keeping classes affordable – SNG funding in action

Darrel MacAndrew from Sovereign Network Group with MOVEability's Debbie Medlin

At MOVEability, we rely on funding to keep our classes affordable. Darrel MacAndrew, Community Investment and Partnership Lead at one of the organisations funding us, Sovereign Network Group, joined our class at Alice Bye Court in Thatcham. The writeup below was originally posted on LinkedIn by Darrel on 11.07.24

I had a great time visiting ‘Alice Bye Court’ in Thatcham, Berkshire today whereby I got to witness some of our SNG customers getting involved in seated exercises. I even joined in the session myself!

Led by Debbie Medlin of the Organisation MOVEability, she ran through a number of seated exercise routines to music and all the while making it fun and engaging for all involved.

MOVEability is an Organisation I have funded and partnered with via one of our Community Micro-Grant programmes. It was very satisfying to see the impact this partnership has had and how much the activities being delivered mean to its participants. Participants clearly benefit a lot from health and wellbeing and social inclusion with some participants being 95 and 97 years of age! Fantastic and very inspiring. The activities are followed up by a lovely social cafe which I feel carries significant importance as well when it comes to tackling social isolation and bringing people together 🙂

Thank you Debbie Medlin for delivering such a fantastic service to not just our customers but to the wider community too and helping make this part of Thatcham and the areas you deliver in – more enjoyable and inclusive places to live.

Yes, I expect a telling off from Debbie about my posture here too!

Why not try a class? Here are details of our upcoming classes.
