Chair Dancing For Charity!

MOVEability's chair dancing session at a fundraising dance-a-thon

You’d think I’d want a break from chair exercise on a weekend. Still, I couldn’t turn down the invitation from Penny Locke of Penny Post on behalf of 4LEGS Radio for MOVEability to take part in a fundraising Dance-a-thon last Saturday.

We were one of a line-up that also featured salsa dancing, line dancing, Morris dancing and tea dancing, amongst others, in a 12-hour non-stop dance extravaganza in East Garston Village Hall to raise funds for the village hall and for the local radio station. The event was well attended – well done to the organisers – and raised an impressive £1500, which will be match-funded by Greenham Trust. It was a fantastic atmosphere with people of all ages taking part, including the seated dance segment I ran.

The event went down so well there is talk of making it annual. We hope they do.
