Did you know, loneliness is one of the biggest risk factors associated with chronic pain?
January is the month when all of us are most at risk of loneliness. If you suffer with chronic pain, chances are you are likely to be feeling lonelier than usual.
At Christmas, everyone makes the effort to catch up with friends and family. You had people come to visit, call you and even bring you to their house.
With the festivities over, life marches on without you.
Your family go back to work and school whilst you remain at home, alone.
The loneliness bites harder than usual
You become caught in a vicious cycle. Your pain is isolating you and the resulting loneliness then worsens your health and tolerance to pain.
This January we want to help you break that cycle.
Stop loneliness in its tracks and lift everyone’s spirits by hosting a FUN NIGHT IN
Why get involved?
While your pain may limit what you can do, it doesn’t have to keep you from reaching out to others.
Your friends and family may have gone back to work and school, but they will be having a touch of the blues too.
Tips for organising your night in
It doesn’t have to be a grand event, just a small get together, even 1 other is fantastic.
Staying home means you can be comfortable and relaxed, enabling you to save your energy for interacting with your guests.
Don’t be shy, ask people to bring something, most are happy to contribute.
